CRESCENT MOON & A SHINING STAR
May 16, 2010 - This is my photo share of tonight’s celestial event. I don’t have a kick-ass telephoto lens so this is the best zoom shot that I have from my 18-55 Canon kit lens.
I love moons! I love moon watching. Full moons are my favorite and next are crescent moons. New moons are fun to watch but they can be overwhelming. I missed the previous crescent moon “event” with the two stars above it that formed a “smiley”. So I’m really happy that I caught this one tonight: a waxing crescent moon with a single shining “star” (the planet Venus, actually) above it.
